Most products are restored items so will in most cases and even after restoration show signs of use or wear.  We will take great efforts to accurately describe vintage items but please bear this in mind when purchasing.

When purchasing Straight Razors, you confirm that you are 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER, it is illegal to purchase blades or anything that could be used as a knife by anyone under the age of 18 years.

Straight Razor Honing and Restoration

Whilst every effort will be made to ensure that damage to your razor is minimal, we cannot be held responsible for damage due to brittle materials that have degraded due to age.  For example, Horn, Bakelite and early plastics used for scales can become very brittle and can easily crack.

We will usually inform you of any risks and request your acceptance before work commences on a particularly fragile piece.

When honing a razor, some 'hone wear' will result.  Obviously this will be kept to a minimum, but please do not complain about spine wear caused by honing.  Whatever hone wear occurs will be absolutely necessary in ensuring that the blade is honed sharp and true.

The only way to accurately test a razor for sharpness is by shaving with it.  I will hone a razor, then test the sharpness by shaving.  The razor will then be sterilised using Barbicide (regd) and then lubricated with Olive Oil before dispatch.

I am very experienced in honing and in shaving with a straight razor.  After honing, if you feel that a razor is not sharp enough, please let me know, but in most cases, if you are relatively inexperienced in straight razor shaving, it will be down to lack of techique (I know, I've been there - after thinking quite a few razors were not sharp enough, I eventually learned that it was entirely due to my lack of experience and technique)

 Safety Razor Restoration and Replating

Whilst every effort will be made to ensure the best possible finish, the resulting finish is largely dependent upon the condition of the razor surface.  Minor pitting can be removed but pitting to the inside/underside of the head or the handle will in most cases result in less than perfect finish.  Please bear this in mind before considering a replating service.

Every effort will be taken to ensure no damage to a razor, but if a request is made to straighten teeth or an operation that can easily result in breakage, this is at your own risk and I will outline the risks before proceeding with the operation.

However, orders will only be accepted if there are no material errors in the description of the goods or their prices as advertised on this website. All prices are displayed inclusive of VAT. Packaging may vary from that shown. The weights, dimensions and capacities given are approximate only. We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours of our products that appear on the website. However, as the actual colours you see will depend on your monitor, we cannot guarantee that your monitor's display of any colour will accurately reflect the colour of the product on delivery. Ordering Errors

You are able to correct errors on your order up to the point at which you click to submit your order o the final page of our online ordering process.

Delivery Charges

Delivery charges vary depending on the type of products ordered and the service you select and any refunds will be at the discretion of RestoredRazors.

Cancellation Right

Under the distance selling regulations you have the legal right to cancel your order within seven working days of receipt of the goods. When goods are delivered to a third party you will only be able to exercise this right if you are able to return to us the goods you ordered. Please note that we are only able to accept returns for earrings or underwear if the items are either in their original unopened, sealed packaging, or if the items are faulty.

Returns Policy

We hope you will be pleased with your purchase. Should you wish to return anything bought from us, we will be happy to refund or exchange a product. Returns should be made within a reasonable time (usually 28 days) and in original, undamaged packaging following the procedure outlined in the FAQ section of this website. We will refund the price of the item to the purchaser, or exchange the product if an exchange has been requested, once it is received by us. Please consider that you have a duty of care for the products during the cancellation period. Where a refund is requested Goods will be refunded within 30 days. None of the above conditions affect your statutory rights when goods are faulty, or not as described. Please note that at times of Sale our return policy for Sale items is 14 days. It's important for us to make sure that others get a chance to purchase returning items before we close our Sale Shop for another season.
